JW Yachts
JW Yachts has been appointed the exclusive sales agents for A.F. Theriault & Sons line of luxury trawlers. A.F. Theriault, with a 100 acre yard and 150 skilled workers, in Meteghan River, Nova Scotia has been building fine yachts, fishing, and commercial vessels up to 130' since 1938. Their success in building pleasure yachts to ABS, Lloyds, Det Norske Veritas, and Bureau Veritas classifications have earned them international respect with many of their luxury steel full displacement passagemakers cruising worldwide (several of these yachts have previously been featured in PassageMakerMagazine.).
With quality of construction and safety remaining primary considerations, the Acadien 68, designed by Lengkeek Vessel Engineering, is the first trawler that A.F. Theriault is producing under their own name. The Acadien 68 will have twin engines, double steel bottom, bulbous bow, bow thruster, 4500 nautical mile range and will be fully equipped for cruising in luxury.
JW Yachts is a Fort Lauderdale yacht brokerage that specializes in trawlers and long-range cruisers. Judy Waldman, owner of JW Yachts, states ‚ have sold many trawlers that were built at the A.F.T. yard and am ecstatic that they have finally decided to build their own line of passagemakers. With A.F.T.'s integrity and experience, they are most capable of producing the finest and safest of yachts and I am confident they will bring a new level of expertise and wisdom to the building process.
